5 Soliciting Funds from AFOSR
Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) is open at all times to innovative ideas Provides information on AFOSR basic research interests along with Program Officer contact information. Finding the proper program for your research is CRITICAL! Contacting your AFOSR Program Officer can save time, focus your efforts, and lead to a greater chance of success! There is no specific solicitation window, but one should consult with the Program Officer regarding the best time to submit.

6 HBCU/MI Program Historically Black Colleges & Universities and Minority Institutions (HBCU/MI) Program Provides grants for research and instrumentation at HBCU/MIs 22 grants awarded at $2.0M in FY09 and $2.5M in FY11, FY12 and FY13 $3.8M in 2014 $4.5M in 2015 $4.5M in 2016 $4.5M in 2017 DoD Research and Education Program Solicitation open to all HBCU/MI’s, closes on 10 August 2017 Research up to $600,000 and two - four students Three applications per institution *Managed by the Army Research Office (ARO) *Content of the solicitation changes every year Basic research to support tomorrow’s S&Es is vital to the warfighter since such research is the source of new ideas and technologies and promotes the education of new engineers and scientists.
