7. Salvation Is Not by “Faith Only”
Saving faith is obedient.

8. Grace and Faith Illustrated
Israel did not escape Egypt by its own strength. It was by God’s Grace.
By faith, they obeyed and performed a “work of God.”

Grace and faith are illustrated by Israel’s deliverance from Egypt. BY GRACE—Israel did not escape by their own strength. By FAITH—They obeyed when they performed a work of God by sprinkling the blood on the doorposts, Exo.12:3-14; Heb.11:28. Were they saved after the lamb was slain? Or because they trusted in the Lord only? They were safe only when by faith they obeyed and trusted in the Lord to bring them freedom! Exo.12:20-30.

9. When Do We Apply the Atoning Blood of Christ?
If saved, must be through His blood.

Why?
It’s how we reach the death of Christ.

WHY? Not two ways of salvation, nor a contradiction in the Bible. Neither is baptism a work of human merit--earning salvation. Baptism is the means through which we reach Christ’s death. (Rom.6:3-5) This is why “Baptism saves us…(Mk.16:16; 1 Pet.3:21)
