1 Introductions Do not write introductions until after your workshop. For your workshop your introduction should be your thesis statement. You are not at the stage for writing introductions if you do not have explanations for why your quotations reveal something significant about the audience, the channel, and/or their relationship.

2 Introductions Review Introductions provide orientation and framing.
Introductions introduce the thesis. Introductions introduce all of the key terms in the thesis. In other words, the thesis should appear at the end of the introduction, and the introduction makes the thesis make sense.

3 Introductions For short essays, introductions should lead not just to your thesis but also to your examples. In your timed writing your examples set the scope (the frame) for your essay.

4 Introductions For your second analytical essay your introduction should be drawn from the explanations for why the examples are important for administrators without mentioning your specific examples. In other words, you should hint at what the examples show about the audience, the channel, and their relationship. For example, the comments say something about whether there is a fan base and how dedicated it is. You would not mention the comments in your introduction.

5 Conclusions Review Conclusions provide closure.
Conclusions are not summaries. Conclusions should be thoughtful.

6 Conclusions For the second analytical essay, closure means that you prepare administrators to act on your recommendation. Briefly give the reason for your decision. The reason could be based on a quantitative (more or less of something) comparison or on a value that you prioritize over other values. Give an indication of the result of the college adopting your recommendation. Note: Life will not be perfect.
