8 The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages
European Language Portfolio The aim of this PowerPoint presentation is to provide assistance to anyone who is familiar with the EPOSTL and who wishes to hold a dissemination event in a national or international setting. Please feel free to use this presentation as you wish. It may be shortened or supplemented by additional slides. We would, however, ask you to remain faithful to the content and rationale of the EPOSTL. The first part of this presentation describes the background to the EPOSTL project (1-21). In the second, EPOSTL will be described in some detail. The European Portfolio for Student Teachers of Languages appeared in English and French in 2007 and in 2008 in German, published by the European Centre for Modern Languages of the Council of Europe. In addition, a local version has appeared in Polish. An Italian, Spanish and Romanian version are in preparation. European Profile for Language teacher Education
