4 Chrysophyta unicellular marine or freshwater protist
Most of them are photosynthetic  initially categorized as plants. Particularly important in lake where they may be the primary source of food for zooplankton

5 Chrysophyta (cont) In many chrysophytes the cell walls are composed of cellulose with large quantities of silica. Some have one or two flagella, which can be similar or dissimilar. Sometimes produce sexually, but mostly through cell division.

6 Example Diatoms:are a major group of algae, and are among the most common types of phytoplankton.
