2 Device Manager Simulator
HiCommand Device Manager provides the simulation mode. With Hitachi RAID Array simulator, some of the Device Manager operations can be simulated on your laptop PC. This Module describe the installation and setup of the simulator- mode Device Manager with following steps. 3 Device Manager Simulator
(1) Install Device Manager Server on you laptop PC (2) Install RAID Array Simulator The RAID Array simulator is provided as “BUILD_0400_08_sim_Windows.zip” file and located in the directory of /0400_HP/BUILD_0400_07/English/product. Extract the zip archive and you will find the files under the directory “Simulator”. Copy the whole directory “simulator” to the C:/Program Files/HiCommand/ © 2004 Hitachi Data Systems

(3) Configuration for Simulator Modify the HDvM server property Open the “servers.properties” file in the directory of C:/Program Files/HiCommand/DeiceManager/HiCommandServer/config/ Edit the entry “server.http.mode=true” to “server.http.mode=simulation”. (4) Restart Device Manager Server Use the prepared command. “Start” – “All Program” – “HiCommand” – “Device Manager” – “Stop HDvM” and “Start HDvM” © 2004 Hitachi Data Systems

6 Start Device Manager in Simulator Mode
