It’s always there, watching, steadfast, knowing us in our light and dark moments, changing forever just as we do. Every day it’s a different version of itself. Sometimes weak and wan, sometimes strong and full of light.” Do you agree with this quote? Give two facts to support your position.

2. What we know about the moon.
The moon revolves around the Earth once every 28 days.
The moon rotates on its axis once every 28 days.
The orbit path of the moon is tilted 5 degrees
The Earth and the Moon orbit the Sun together at a distance that is about 92 million miles away.

Question: Where is the moon located on it’s orbit path when we see a full moon? No moon? A sliver of a moon?

3. Moon Phase Investigation
You will take turns helping each other use the model. Everyone must be the Earth and use the model!
Your group mates will hold the model while you rotate like the Earth.
Start at position #1. What do you see of the moon?
Recorded your observations by shading the far right circle (the moon) with what you see from Earth when the E-M-S are in the positions shown.
Repeat this process of each position.
