Associate in Arts & Sciences BA in Outdoor Recreation (87 credits) Physical Education, Health, and Recreation Department College of Arts, Letters, and Education Why study Outdoor Recreation? The Outdoor Recreation degree at EWU is one of the most exciting and adventuresome professional degree programs at any public university in the country. Skills courses include whitewater rafting, wilderness backpacking, search and rescue, winter camping, outdoor leadership, wilderness first responder, wilderness survival, and mountaineering. Additionally, students take courses in leadership, programming, administration, budgeting, legal liability, risk management, and facility design. Career Opportunities Students who graduate with an Outdoor Rec degree find positions as outdoor leaders or resource managers for public and private organizations, including government, commercial, and nonprofit agencies.
