For this portion of the project you will use your responses to the focus question “Why did people choose to move west?” to create a poster motivating people to move to the west. Make sure to include appropriate content as well as some eye-catching propaganda in order to persuade people to move. Homework: Finish your motivational poster

5 Part 2 day 16 Journal Entries
For this portion of the project, you will write 1-2 journal entries that describe travels along one of the trails that you have studied. You may use your notes to complete the entries. These two entries should be written in first person and should include both hardships and important stopping points along the trail. Use notes from Day 15 video.

6 Part 3 Day 17 Map For this portion of the project, you need to create a map detailing the journey that you have chosen to highlight in this project. Your map should include the regions that you will travel through, as well as show the detailed path and stopping points that you will travel along and through.

7 Part 4 Day 18 Overcoming Hardships
The final portion of this project will highlight possible solutions to the hardships that were initially endured while settlers traveled westward. Your job is to create a plan that shows how new settlers attempting to travel west can work to overcome the hardships endured along the trails. Think about technological advances as well as new discoveries in inventions that may make the journey a little easier. You can choose the format for this portion of the final project. Be creative!
