2. John Herschel Discovered Cyanotype in 1842.
Experimenting with chemicals he found that when using ferric (iron) salts and reducing them to a ferrous state by light, and then combined them with other salts he could create a blue and white image.

3. Cyanotype was an early photographic process using cyanide.

4. Cyanotype was popular in the 20th century for engineering.
Cyanotype allowed Engineers to print large prints of their work will save money.
This is where the term “Blue Print” came from.

5. In 1842 a Cyanotype print was create by using these chemicals: Ammonium Iron Citrate and Potassium Ferricyanide.

6. Today a Cyanotype is created using photoshop by, desaturating the image, then creating a new layer on top of the image and coloring it blue. Once this is done you should change the blend mode to Linear Dodge and reduce the opacity of the blue layer to about 40%.

7. Cyanotype is also referred to as a Blueprint, or Monochrome
