Three main roles CSOs can take in promoting good governance of the private security sector have been identified:
Awareness raising of and participation to the formulation of national policies
Monitoring of the industry
Complaints handling and assistance to victims
Do you have experiences to share in regard to these roles, from this or other business sectors? What are the most important enablers of these roles?
Do you see any other role that would be missing?
What would you see as useful to support between and for CSOs undertaking these roles?
How do you see CSO’s relationship with other actors – such as NHRI, Government, private industries, communities – in connection with these roles?
