1 The Cell Will Survive by Annette M. Parrott www. africangreyparrott
The Cell Will Survive by Annette M. Parrott to to tune of I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor

2 At first there was DNA in the nucleus

3 But how to get it to the ribosome without a fuss ?

4 The DNA cant leave, so it first must be transcribed

5 And once it’s (m)RNA it can finally arrive
At the ribosome, where its translated

6 And the 3 bases of codons are neatly read

7 Then amino acids are brought by the tRNA

8 Bound together to make proteins, and then they can save the day

9 The cell’s alive, it will survive
Transcription and translation are how proteins are synthesized

10 DNA to RNA then RNA becomes proteins
Protein synthesis, all controlled by the genes Translation

11 DNA is transcribed: T to A and A to U
these complimentary bases, keep the copied sequence true

12 That’s the double helix code that makes you, you and makes me, me.
C to G and G to C DNA simplicity That’s the double helix code that makes you, you and makes me, me.

15 DNA --> RNA is called...
A. Replication B. Transcription C. Translation D. Protein synthesis

16 RNA--> protein is called..
A. Replication B. Transcription C. Translation D. Protein synthesis

17 A? B? Amino acid tRNA mRNA codon anticodon D? C? E?

18 Replication? Transcription? Or translation?

19 Proteins are synthesized at the...
Mitocondria nucleus ribosome chloroplast
