3 Ethical and Appropriate Use of Technology
Our students will need to learn how to ethically use technology in areas such as: - Copyright Laws ~Students will learn what information they are allowed to copy.

4 ~Teachers will model the appropriate use of copyrighted materials.
~Each classroom teacher will explain copyright laws and the consequences for the inappropriate use of copyrighted materials. ~Teachers will model the appropriate use of copyrighted materials. -Finding and Using appropriate websites ~ proper citation of computer sources ~ determining reliable sources

5 Equitable Access We will ensure that each of our students has available to them the technology needed to complete all of their assignments. - Each student will have access to our school’s computer lab during computer class and for one hour after school. - There are four computers in each regular classroom that will be available for students to use during free time.

6 National Technology Standards for Teachers
Teachers will understand concepts related to technology as well as stay updated on new technologies. Teacher will design lesson plans that include technology that will assist different learning styles and apply current research on technology to classroom teaching. They should also be able to find and evaluate new technology resources, as well as find ways to manage the technology that is in the classroom and students’ learning using this technology. Teachers will implement technology in a way that will meet the students technology standards and assist children with various needs. Teachers also should use technology in a way that will help students develop higher thinking skills and creativity. Teacher will need to plan for managing students learning with technology.

7 Teachers will use technology to assess their students learning
Teachers will use technology to assess their students learning. They will also use technology to collect, analyze, and interpret information. Teachers will use several methods of evaluation to determine if students are using technology appropriately. Teachers will use technology to increase their learning and productivity as professionals and to communicate with others to facilitate students’ learning . They will also evaluate technology to make decisions regarding students’ learning. Teachers will model as well as teach ethical uses of technology as well as apply the technology in a way that will help students with diverse backgrounds and needs. Teacher will encourage the use of technology in a safe and healthy manner and ensure that students have equal access to the technology resources

8 National Technology Standards for Students
Students will understand how to use technology and become proficient in its use Students will learn to use technology appropriately, ethically and, responsibly so that the use of technology will help them throughout their lives Students will use technology to aid in their learning and increase their productivity and creativity. Students will use these tools to create productions and works.

9 Students will use telecommunications and other media and formats to effectively communication information to a variety of audiences. Students will use technology to find information, collect and report data, and evaluate new sources of information. Students will learn to use technology resources to solve problems and make decisions. They will apply this to real world situations and problems.

10 State Technology Standards for Students
Students will learn how technology affects society and how to ethically use technology in everyday life. Students will learn about the technology that is available to them and how to effectively use that technology. Student will learn how to use technology to research, organize, apply, and communicate information.

11 Application of Technology Standards for Students
Our technology policy will meet the national and state technology standards for students by teaching them to use technology properly, through completion of their assignments, and other daily use of technology.
