4. Development of agriculture
Agriculture began about 10,000 years ago, when a warmer climate enabled humans to plant seeds to raise livestock
During most of the human species 200,000 year existence, we have been hunter gathers, depending on wild animals for our food and fiber.

5. Selective breeding and settlement
Selective breeding has resulted in all the food crops and livestock that feed us everyday.
Increased populations resulted from settlement and more reliable food supply and reinforced the need for both. I don’t know what im doing .

6. Traditional agriculture
Until the industrial revolution of the 1800’s the work of cultivating, harvesting, storing, and distributing crops everywhere was performed by human and muscle power.
Traditional agriculture may use teams of worker animals and use irrigation and organic fertilizer, but it does not require fossil fuels.

Farm and ranch families comprise just 2 percent of the U.S. population.
About 23 percent of raw U.S. farm products are exported each year.
31 percent of U.S. gross farm income comes directly from exports.
In 2010, $115 billion worth of American agricultural products were exported around the world. The United States sells more food and fiber to world markets than we import, creating a positive agricultural trade balance.
