1 Science Planner 11/29/17 Goal: Solar and Lunar Eclipses WU: Sunrise = 7:34 Sunset = 4:24 Calculate the time the Sun will be above the horizon today. CW: Mapping the locations of Sunspots Calculating the time for one rotation of the Sun.

3 Tracking Sunspots Carefully locate and mark each of the positions on the maps provided for the Sunspots that we calculated locations for on Monday. Sunspot “A” crosses the Suns disc at 22 degrees North Latitude. Sunspot “B” crosses the Suns disc at 10 degrees North Latitude. Sunspot “C” crosses the Suns disc at -14 degrees South Latitude.

5 Analysis of data Graph the data from yesterday onto the sheet provided. From the data, determine how many degrees of longitude each group moved each day. Calculate an average, determine the total degrees of change noted from one day to the next. Next, add these up, and divide by the number of days these represent. Do the A, B, and C sunspots all move at approximately the same rate? What is the average?
