3 IMDS Release 11.0 Rollout November 12/13, 2016 Rollout
Enhancement Description Removal of GADSL Checkbox Checkbox “I have declared all GADSL substances” will be removed Error Preliminary in Final MDS Final version of MDS must not contain references to preliminary MDSs Mark MDSs as Obsolete Companies can mark own MDSs within company as ‘not to be used anymore’ Allow Forwarding of MMDSs Forwarding for MMDSs will be reactivated Chemistry Manager Support fast request and exchange of regulatory information IMDS-a2 Chemistry manager rolled out (May 4, 2017) Rollout November 12/13, 2016 Rollout January 14/15, 2017

4 New Process working on Released MDSs
Tier 3 Tier 2 Tier 1 OEM Request Material Data Report & Assemble Material Data IMDS forwards regulatory requests, anonymously. IMDS provides regulatory info to MMDS users, anonymously. Materials Supplier Product Owner MDS Exchange Up to several weeks/months Chemistry Manager Minutes/hours for information exchange

5 Chemistry Manager - Basics
CM currently works on EU BPR and REACH but is open for new regulations CM is a tool which can deal with growing regulations on existing data without the demand of resubmission CM provides information fast for the entire community CM works independent from MDS release process CM regulation requests are addressed anonymously CM regulation information is provided anonymously The company administrator has to grant access to the CM for his users BPR on Material Level REACH Annex XIV on Material Level REACH on (Semi-) Component Level

6 Chemistry Manager Example with all Regulation Types

7 Challenges on the IMDS System
Initially we made an analysis of the data in order respond to requests fast We have to deal with huge amounts of data in different structures (legacy), which have regulations relevant substances Regulation information is connected to the MDS ID, not to the single versions Always the current regulation version is displayed in the regulation wizard Old regulation versions can be seen in the ingredient screen Regulation information can be requested across the entire supply chain Analyses have to consider the effect on materials and their usage in 1st level components

8 Where can you find Support?
In the User Manual there is plenty of information available Helpdesks provide support About 30% of the calls in March were CM related Training partners offer special CM training or adjust their standard courses to CM On the IMDS FAQ pages there is a growing amount of CM related topics

9 Main CM related Questions at Help Desks
Why is it not possible to add regulatory information on MDSs in edit mode? This is on purpose: only after releasing an MDS the regulatory information can be provided Why do standard materials from SC need entries for BPR and/or REACH from the (semi-) component creator? This information can not be embedded in standard MDSs. Only the user of these MDSs knows the detailed information (BPR purpose, manufactured or imported in EEA etc.) Why is there info about regulations for old versions while the current version is no longer regulation relevant? This is an known issue and will be addressed to define the process. If an MDS used to have regulatory relevant substances in older versions and has now none of those substances anymore then it is not possible to release new regulatory information indicating that the new MDS version is ‘clean’

10 FAQs on Chemistry Manager
More than 20 questions and answers are available. Most of them are result of the AIAG testing of IMDS The list will grow. Please address questions to the helpdesks or address them via your organization to the IMDS SC, especially if they are related to enhancements of the Chemistry Manager function.

11 Chemistry Manager Usage - Users
as of May 12th, 2017 By now 5586 users have access rights granted by their company administrators to the IMDS Chemistry Manager. Supply Chain gets familiar with CM

12 Chemistry Manager Usage – Requests and Reg Info
as of May 12th, 2017 591 different IMDS company registrations entered regulatory information (… may be as well based upon request). 235 different IMDS company registrations issued regulatory requests.

13 Chemistry Manager Usage – Requests Type Status
as of May 12th, 2017 Measured values as of April 24th, 2017 Less requests in April, maybe due to BPR deadline has passed and Easter vacation IMDS Chemistry Manager in IMDS Production since Jan 15th, 2017 Measured values as of May 12th, 2017 Less requests due to not full month yet measured

14 Next Steps The Chemistry Manager module will be optimized regarding function and usability There are a few gaps between the current implementation and the definition of the working group consisting of IMDS SC and SUAL representatives. In discussion. The next IMDS release will focus on Chemistry Manager functions. Stakeholders will be included in the discussion.

15 Thank you.
