3 WHO: EMPATHY Empathy should be applied to every student.
It is important to have empathy for underprivileged students but also to remember to show empathy even to students of apparent privilege. It is important to have empathy for our weaker student and our stronger students. 4 EXAMPLE: Empathy Have problems and activities for students of all levels. Respond with encouragement to student comments or questions. Allow leniency on due dates for programming assignments. Open notes or a cheat sheet on exams. Accept (almost) any excuse for a make-up exam.
