13. 20/20 Endowed Scholarships
SFA was awarding scholarships without AECE input
This was done 2 years in a row, not acceptable to AECE
With the help of the Development Office we have modified the endowments to prevent this from happening again.
The revised endowment documents were signed and are now in effect.

15. Academy President’s Forum
The Academy President’s Forum allows us to share ideas, information and issues among the Academies and with the Chancellor
Chemical Engineer Academy is pairing new members with current members to get them up to speed on the Academy and to get them involved.
One idea discussed was to get new members involved on committees
Metallurgy/Mines Academy met with student groups and discussed the Student Groups top 3 priorities and how the Academy might help

Miner Athletics Academy’s Life Skills Seminar continues to be successful.
University looking a university based “Mentor a Miner” program.
A concern was expressed that as we push towards more research, we don’t sacrifice teaching

The AECE Strategy is to provide focus on what we will do to help the Department and University
The AECE Strategy was approved at our April 2016 Annual Meeting.
The strategy includes our core activities
To be successful, we will continue to need members to get involved to help implement the Strategy.
The following slides provide Updates for Three Themes since the Strategy was approved.

Provide support to the Students of the ECE Department
Provide endowed and general fund scholarships
We continue to provide scholarships
We provided 6 scholarships from the endowments and 5 from the Operating Account.
Partner with student organizations to provide mentoring
We provided Funding to the IEEE Student Branch for their Finals Week Snacks
We provided a panel for the IEEE Student Branch April 19th meeting.

25. GIVING AND MEETING EXPENSES
Last year’s giving was $15,444.
For 2016 meeting receipts exceeded food expenses by $100. Total out of pocket cost of the meeting was $980. Up from last year but still much better than when we started.
94% of Academy Members contribute to S&T.
32% of our members are in OGS.
