8. Species-dependent spawning strategy:
Single batch spawners
Spawn annually, single batch of eggs over several years ( trout and salmon) or some spawn once and die after spawning (Pacific salmon species)
Long vitellogenesis
To significantly affect the gonads one must feed broodstock feed for a long period.
Multiple spawners
Spawn annually and multiple batches,sea bass, sea bream (4-6), halibut (10), cod (15-20)
Short vitellogenesis
The gonads can be affected by feeding in a few weeks/months
