2 Senior Status Letters Lets you know what classes are still required for student to graduate Let’s you know whether the Community Service requirement has been met Lets you know the number of credits earned toward the required minimum Contact information for counselors Graduation is scheduled for Thursday May 25th at 12:00 noon

3 SCCPSS Requirements to Graduate
4 units in English, Math, Science, and 4 courses in Social Studies. 1 unit in Health and Personal Fitness 2 World Language credits in the same language; or 1 World Language credit if CTAE pathway is completed 4 CTAE credits if completing a pathway 6 electives if no CTAE pathway is completed; 3 electives if CTAE pathway is completed Minimum of 24 total credits earned

4 Check Grades with Power School
Parents are encouraged to track grades, attendance, and maintain communication with teachers through Power School Parent Access Don’t assume the absence was a “teacher error”- the system is calling you to let you know the student is not in class Don’t assume the call was due to student being tardy Send excuses in with student when returning from an excusable absence Student may be withdrawn after 10 consecutive days out of school Make sure contact numbers and address is accurate in Power School

5 Community Service Requirement
Minimum of 20 hours of community service performed and a minimum three paragraph essay about the service performed Hours may be prorated based on student’s entry date to the SCCPSS schools. Preference is hours are served for a non-profit agency

6 Don’t Let Senioritis Prevent Your Graduation
Attendance is still required, and could prevent you from graduating All grades impact your total credits and GPA College admission acceptances may be revoked if Final transcript does not show expected performance this spring Teachers are not required to accept late work, allow make-up tests or other assignments unless absence is excused-then must be made up in 3-5 days after returning

7 What’s Next After High School?
4 Year College?-Most need ACT or SAT scores, application and high school transcript; only two tests left for each-ACT April 8th and June 10th; SAT May 6th and June 3rd Apply for FAFSA Technical College or 2 year college?-Accuplacer being given at Groves on Wednesday, March 15th Military?-ASVAB was given February 1st; Offered nearly every Friday at VA College campus-must work through your recruiter to register Work?- Spring Job Fair is March 30th; Must present resume to Dr. Lasley in Rm. 761 to get the Job Fair field trip information

8 What about Junior and Senior Dues
Questions concerning dues should be addressed to Ms. Howard or Mr. Cox Ms. Howard may be reached at or at ext Prices depend on the package ordered; some packages may no longer be available Information on graduation tickets will be forthcoming from Ms. Howard Yearbook questions should be directed to Ms. Mobley at Yearbooks are $60 dollars and if you order one, you also get last year’s yearbook for free
