2 what is a wildfire? A large, destructive fire that spreads quickly over woodland or brush Wildfires are mainly caused by campfires, smoking, lightning, arson etc. Wildfires mainly start in places with a hot climate, such as some parts of the US, Australia and Canada

3 Famous wildfires The Great Peshtigo Fire - In 1871, the worst recorded forest fire in North American history raged through Northeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan. The Great Hinckley Fire-This fire tore through the town of Hinckley. Minnesota after a dry summer season. The Big burn-Occuring in Idaho and Montana. This wildfire happened in It tore through three million acres of wildfireand was said to have sent great balls of fire down the mountainsides.
