2. For our Approach
We will study the passages that teach that God and Christ are to abide in us.
Examine in as practical a way as we can what it means for Christ to live in us.
See that the ability to obtain the spiritual blessings that are in Christ depends on the extent to which Christ lives in us (Eph. 3:20).
Study how the Holy Spirit helps in making us more Christ-like.

3. Purpose for Jesus’ Coming to Earth:
Two primary purposes:
To die for our sins (Matt. 1:21; 1 Tim. 2:6)
To show men what God is like and how God would act as a man – thus showing us a perfect, ideal man (Jn. 1:4, 14, 18)

4. How Jesus Should Live in Us:
What does it mean to let Christ live in us?
Precious promises: teaching, learning, renewing (2 Pet. 1:4; Jn. 6:44-45; Rom. 12:2)
When Christ lives in us, God lives in us (2 Cor. 6:16-7:1; Eph. 5:1)
Every man perfect in Christ, strengthened through faith (Col. 1:28; Eph. 1, 2, 3:14-21)

5. The Garden of the Spirit:
Every branch that does not bear fruit will be taken away (Jn. 15:2)!
How is fruit produced? The Spirit produces it (Gal. 5:22; Cf. Gen. 2:7; 2 Pet. 1:21; Eph. 3:3-5; Rom. 1:16)
Through the word, the Spirit exerts the influence of God upon us (Lk. 8:11)
