3 The infinitives of Verbs
In Spanish, there are verbs that end in –AR, -ER, and –IR. Remember that the infinitive of a verb is the “to _____” form that would be found in a dictionary. Here are some –ER verbs in the infinitive.

4 Aprender To learn Aprender is often followed by a + infinitive of another verb. Example: Ustedes aprenden a hablar español.

5 agua, jugo, leche, refrescos
Beber To drink agua, jugo, leche, refrescos water, juice, milk, pop

6 Comer To eat

7 Comprender To understand

8 Correr To run

9 Creo que sí/no = I do/don’t think (believe) so
Creer (en) To believe (in) Creo que sí/no = I do/don’t think (believe) so

10 Deber Should, must, ought to
Deber is generally followed by the infinitive of a verb. Example: Debes estudiar español.
