2 What is a Scout Expo? May 6, 2017 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. (EST)
Woodruff Park – Uptown Columbus Opportunity to bring Scouting to the public with over 20,000 no-Scouts in attendance. Part of a signature event for the region. Interactive hands on booths and demos. FREE FAMILY FUN

5 Scout Expo Booths Standard size booth is 15X15
Booth size can change to fit your needs

6 Scout Expo Booths CUB SCOUT PACK BOOTHS
We want the Scout Expo to be a an opportunity to show off STEM in Scouting. So focus your booth on one or more Science, Technology, Engineering or Math.

7 Scout Expo Booths CUB SCOUT PACK BOOTHS
10 Bonus Points will be awarded if your booth is focused on STEM. OR Your booth is centered around the NOVA or Super NOVA Awards

8 Scout Expo Booths BOY SCOUT TROOP BOOTHS
10 Bonus Points will be awarded if your booth is focused on a STEM merit badge. OR Your booth is centered around the NOVA or Super NOVA Awards

9 Scout Expo Booths Judging will be done by local “celebrities”
Packs, Troops, and Crews / Posts will be judged separately. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophy will be given in each program category. Every unit will receive a ribbon for participation.

10 Scout Expo Booths Judging – Bonus Points 10 25 POINTS – Subject matter
15 POINTS – Attitude 15 POINTS – Personal Appearance 15 POINTS – Attendance 15 POINTS – Identification 15 POINTS – Promptness 100 TOTAL POSSIBLE POINTS – Bonus Points 10

11 Scout Expo Booths Unit booths should be interactive and demonstrate a Scout skill. Standard booth size is 15x 15 but more space is available upon request. Don’t let space keep you from doing something awesome! Set up can be done on Saturday morning at 6:30 a.m.

12 Scout Expo Booth Cub Scout Packs STEM or NOVA Awards A good booth has:
Boys in uniform Pack Flag Something fun Hands on activity Related to Scouting Gets non-Scouts excited about joining your Pack.

A good booth has: Boys in uniform Troop Flag Hands on activity Related to Scouting Gets non-Scouts excited about joining your Troop.

14 Scout Expo Booth What not to do….. Scouts not in uniform
Sitting down doing nothing or doing something not related to Scouting No hands on activity for people to participate in

15 Scout Expo Booth February – Discuss booth ideas with your unit
March – Decide on booth theme April – Work on building booth at unit meetings May – Scout Expo

17 Camp Card Changes Cards sell for $5 each
No risk involved turn in cards you don’t sell. Base Unit Commission is 35% 50% commission for booth at Scout Expo

18 Camp Card February – Units place orders for cards.
March – Cards distributed to units at Roundtable March – Card Sales start April Roundtable – Redistribute cards May Roundtable – Redistribute cards May 6th – Units settle accounts

19 Camp Card In addition to 50% commission for your unit. Scouts can earn Camperships. 50 Cards – Cub Family Camp or Camporee 125 Cards – Day Camp or Scout Uniform 150 Cards – Webelos Resident Camp 200 Cards – Summer Camp at Camp FGL 200 Cards – NYLT Only one prize per Scout, camperships have no cash value, they cannot be transferred to another Scout or camp.

20 Camp Card Settlement Form
Count your cards to verify you have all that you ordered. Once you have sold what you have you may be able to get more by contacting your District Executive. Make sure that every time you get cards or return cards you sign for them. Your unit will not be charged for returned cards.

21 Unit Kick-Off Meeting Discuss Summer Activities with Scouts and Parents Establish a goal for each Scout to earn his summer trip with the unit Have Scouts role play selling cards Distribute cards to Scouts, make sure you track them and treat them as $5.00 CASH.
