1 Warm Up Tuesday, February 13th
Pull up your SRE NoodleTools work so that I can see it (and so you can refer to it). Now take 10 minutes to brainstorm an outline (create topics/sections in NoodleTools). First, list out as many relevant subtopics you can think of (including a section on background if needed). Then, reorganize the topics into an order that would best suit your thesis statement. Last, see what areas you have sources to support, and what areas still need substantiation.

2 Follow Up to Organization Brainstorming
What research do you still need? Use your NoodleTools work and your "outline" to answer this.  What questions/problems are you having with your work? Be specific.

3 Learning Targets: 1. To collect research and to refine the focus of research by using the preplanned outline and notecards from NoodleTools as a reference.  2. To plan out an outline using NoodleTools. 3. To scrutinize work carefully in order to anticipate any problems that you may encounter in drafting out your essay. 4. To redo/resubmit Homework II. 5. To show Mrs. Lackland your journal if you haven’t already.

4 Outlines This week, we are working on our outlines. If done properly, the outline will serve as a ready and thorough guide to the writing of our research essays (next week). Not only will be build them through NoodleTools, but we will perfect them. We will identify the scope of each paragraph, note what information we have placed within it, work on organization of paragraphs, acquisition of the best research possible, etc. To do this correctly will take these four days in the lab. To hold you accountable, you will fill out a daily progress sheet in Google Classroom.

5 Outline on EasyBib

6 HW II & Journal Check If you scored a 7 or below for HW II, you must redo it. This is because learning how to follow a format (and instructions) EXACTLY is very important when employing MLA formatting. USE THE MODEL PROVIDED WITH THE ASSIGNMENT IN ORDER TO DO IT CORRECTLY. If you were absent last week and would like a grade for your journal, please be sure to show it to me today.

7 Homework A compilation out of all the sources you found last week (I’m hoping to see at least 10, and this list can be informal) Due Thursday, 2/15 A solid outline from NoodleTools is due Due Tuesday, 2/20 A Formal Works Cited sheet of all the research you intend to use. Tuesday, 2/27
