1 Introduction Preschool is important Improve language skills
Improve cognitive skills Improve social skills Overall, perform better in school Education and psychological experts have all conducted research that proves preschool is important. The reasons listed above indicate the great value a good preschool can provide a child. Children in good preschools are helped to develop their language skills further than children who do not attend preschool or who do not attend a good preschool (Serving, 2003). These language skills are related to later vocabulary development and reading ability (Serving, 2003). Likewise, preschools help children build and develop their cognitive abilities, which help them learn how to think and how to solve problems (Serving, 2003). Improvements in social skills also help children develop and build the relationships that help them become more connected to their communities and build positive self esteem (Serving, 2003). In turn, these things combine to help children perform better in school and become more successful in school and later life through this. This is the reason education, government, and parents put such stock in preschools and why they are so important to children, as these slides will further discuss.
