3 Membership Guidelines
GPA requirements: 3.75 cumulative GPA (weighted or unweighted) Participation in 3 Activities School Activity – current membership in an ONW activity or organization Community Activity - current involvement in a non-school organization or activity Third Activity - membership in an additional organization or activity between 9th grade and current year

4 Membership Guidelines
Evidence of service, leadership, and character from at least three activity sponsor recommendations Consistent excellent ratings from Olathe Northwest teachers regarding scholarship, character, and leadership Evidence of character from review of school attendance records and disciplinary files Completion &documentation of service internship by February 27, 2018 20 total service hours At least 5 of those hours must be school hours

5 Membership Checklist On or before November 16th, 2017 by 3:30 p.m. in the library: (Return the following materials in the envelope in which you received them) _____ Student Contract with student and parent/guardian signatures, dated _____ Student Activity Information Sheet _____ONW Substance Abuse Form, signed and dated (only the top copy; retain the bottom copy) _____Three activity sponsor recommendations (in sealed/signed envelopes) By end of semester _____ Maintain cumulative 3.75 GPA for seniors and 3.75 GPA for juniors By February 27, 2018 _____ Complete at least 20 hours of service _____ Register service hours at On March 6th, 2018 (If selected for membership by Faculty Council) _____ Attend Induction Ceremony at 7 p.m. (arrive by 6:30 p.m.)

7 Service performed within the school day
Service hours are defined as those hours of service to school or community for which your time is DONATED and for which NO MONETARY OR OTHER COMPENSATION is received. Community service must include the goal of betterment of the community. ACCEPTABLE Helping less fortunate Assisting a teacher, staff member, or student outside of the normal school day Volunteering at a library Spending time with patients Assisting a non-profit organization Serving at animal shelters or humane societies Assisting in setting up or cleaning up for a school or community activity Attending a meeting for another activity in which a specific service project is planned NON-QUALIFYING Any service performed as a requirement for a course and for which a grade or credit is earned Practices or rehearsals involved with sports, band, or other school activities Service performed within the school day Attending meetings for other activities
