The primary objectives of the Chair: to develop partnership and cooperation by building university networks to encourage inter-university cooperation through the transfer of knowledge across borders to maintain and strengthen academic links in the field of interdisciplinary studies on child development and well-being Themes and topics of organized events: education, pedagogy, interdisciplinary studies on child development and Well-being cultural diversity, sustainable development human rights , children’s rights intercultural education modern psychological, pedagogical and sociological challenges The UNESCO Chair conducts the research programs, participates in conferences, seminars, debates, study visits and since 2006, organizes the International Summer Schools. All of the Chair’s activities are aligned with UNESCO’s priorities in relation to humanities and social sciences. We undertake activities which respond to the challenges of the modern world defined by Sustainable Development Goals.

International Summer School with PK UNESCO & CEPUS PROGRAMME (since 2014) and with other partners: The list of participants and lecturers includes researchers, students, and NGO employees from: Belarus, Bulgaria, Iran, Israel, Kazakhstan, Poland, Russia, Taiwan, Tajikistan, Turkey, Ukraine, Georgia, Romania, Croatia and the USA. Foreign participants* have the possibility to apply for scholarships by the Polish National Committee for UNESCO and the CEEPUS Programme, Bureau for Academic Recognition and International Exchange. *depending on the funders’ geographical priorities , does not concern all EU countries

11-th International Summer School
12 The 11th International Summer School relate to an exchange of international experiences connected with academic and research as well as practical aspects of contemporary migration problems. The subjects focus on three key issues: Theoretical premises and challenges which researchers and practitioners face in the contemporary migration crisis, Research referring to the situation and needs of refugee and migrant children and youth as well problems in their adaptation and integration in host and transit countries, Practices connected with the support for migrant and refugee children and youth and their closest environment.

„Paradigm shift in early teaching: constructivism and developmental approach vs. behavioristic strategies” (project no INGI , duration: June 2016-February 2017), with: Faculty of Education Josip Juraj Strossmayer University, Osijek, Croatia Teachers College University of Columbia, USA „Polnisch – Deutsche wissenschaftliche Dialoge über Kinderrechte, Janusz Korczak und Migration / Polish- German academic dialogues about children’s rights, Janusz Korczak and migration” (project no , duration: 20 May 2016 – 30 June 2017), with partners from: Internationale Akademie Berlin für innovative Pädagogik, Psychologie und Ökonomie (INA) & Free University Berlin, Germany Project received funding of the Polish-German Foundation for Science/ Deutsch-Polnische Wissenschaftsstiftung for the years 2016 i 2017.

"Consultancy Services in the field of strategic foresight for children in the CEECIS region„ (project no LLTS – , duration: November 7, November 6, 2018). Project conducted by: ECORYS Poland in cooperation with the international research team (Poland, Holandia, United Kingdom, the countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) . UNESCO Janusz Korczak Chair (since April 2016) cooperates with Master on Childhood Studies and Children’s Rights (MACR), Department of Education and Psychology, Freie Universität Berlin/ University of Applied Sciences Potsdam Fachhochschule Potsdam.

Project: "School volunteering work as a space of activity for the local environment and shaping students’ civic attitudes” , The UNESCO Janusza Korczak Chair at the Maria Grzegorzewska University assumed the honorary patronage of and provided content-related and organisational support to the project realised in Edward Szymański Primary School No.23 in Warsaw. Project duration: November June 2017. Training - Children and childhood in multicultural global and local perspective, In cooperation with Preschool no 100 in Warsaw (students from ERASMUS+ Program, teachers and children 3 and 6 years old). Study visit, Multicultural childrens’ games conducted by students. Project duration: March 2017
