If you currently have your contacts in Outlook, Top Producer, MyRedTools, or any other Contact Management System (CMS), you can import them into eEdge, myContacts. As the diagram shows, you’ll first export your contacts from your current system into a CSV (or Comma Separated Values) file. Each tool will have its own instructions for exporting contacts. Once your contacts have been exported, you’re ready to import them into eEdge.

3 myContacts To start the import process, [CLICK] click Contacts > Import/Export from the eEdge menu bar.

4 myContacts This will bring you to the Import Contacts screen. As you can see, there are four steps to importing a contact file: [CLICK] Assign a group – select a group from the drop-down list; when you import your contacts, they’ll automatically be added to that group. [CLICK] Select a status for your contacts. We recommend selecting Active. [CLICK] Select a contact type for your contacts. You have several options to choose from. If your file contains a mix of contact types, such as buyers and sellers, we recommend breaking your file down even further into a buyer file and a seller file. Then import each one separately. [CLICK] Finally, specify the format of the CSV file that you will be uploading. - If you exported your contacts from Outlook, Top Producer, or MyRedTools, then select the appropriate file type from the drop down. (INSTRUCTOR: Go into eEdge live, and select each Import File Type from the drop-down list. Notice how the instructions change when you change the file type.) - If you exported your contacts from any other Contact Management System, you should do the following: 1) Download the Custom Import Template CSV file that is available on this page. 2) Open the Custom Import Template in Excel. 3) Open your contact file. 4) Copy and paste your contacts – one column at a time – from your file into the appropriate column in the Custom Import Template. 5) When done, save the Custom Import Template as a CSV. 5. [CLICK] Click the Choose File button and navigate to your CSV file, then click Import to begin the process.
