5. Identify

Zimbardo study, 1972, college students given prison roles- guards and prisoners- even though they were role playing they became so hostile (cruel behavior by the guards towards the prisoners) that the study was ended- this may help explain Abu Ghraib

11. GROUPTHINK
When individuals try to go along with the group because of a desire for consensus or unanimity. This desire precludes any critical analysis of the problem or issue. Conditions which lead to groupthink likelihood: Highly cohesive, leader is directive, group is relatively isolated, time pressure, leader already has mind made up
