3. What is the total price with tax?
Sales Tax-an additional amount of money charged on items that people buy. Tax is added.
Example: A graphing calculator costs $95, and the sales tax rate is 6.75%.

To find the total price you add the tax to the price of the graphing calculator. $101.41

4. What is the discount or the amount saved?
Discount/Markdown- the amount by which the regular price of an item is reduced or lowered. Discount is subtracted.
Example: Alan wants to buy a set of skis that has a regular price of $150. This week, the skis are on sale at 25% discount.

To find the new cost you subtract $37.50 from the original cost of $150. The new price is $

5. How much will she pay in total?
Tip-an amount you add to the price of a service that you receive. Tip is added.
Example: Ina went to a restaurant for lunch. Her bill was $10.45, if she leaves a 15% tip how much was the tip?
