Pushrod -Cam shaft found within the engine block
-Cam shaft lifts pushrods
which lift the rocker arms which lift the valves
Overhead cam -Cam found in the cylinder head
-Cam shaft lifts rocker arms
which lift the valves

5. Pros and Cons
-A major goal of car manufactures is to get better gas mileage.
-Pushrod engines are generally large displacement, low performance
-Make most of their power at low RPM
-Overhead cam engines are much more efficient
-Capable of higher RPM
