Controlling and monitoring privileged and high-risk users in the cloud is one of the major challenges. SOLUTION
Balabit’s privileged user monitoring appliance, Shell Control Box, runs seamlessly on Microsoft Hyper-V, so migrating to Microsoft Azure was relatively easy. Currently, Balabit uses Azure Storage as shares for the backup and archive policies. This is very useful as quotas for file storage can be changed dynamically, so the cumulative size of the audit trails is not limited to the OS disk size. In addition, Microsoft Azure offers valued options for future developments, including Azure Security Center, Azure Active Directory and Azure Key Vault integration.
BENEFITS
Shell Control Box’s underlying operating system is Linux, so Microsoft Azure’s Linux VM support helps Balabit enter the public cloud market.
The scalability of Azure cloud infrastructure enables Balabit to grow without service interruptions as Shell Control Box gains more customers.
