4. The Rationale Evidence base:
Much research has been done on interventions designed to decrease disruptive classroom behavior. Of these interventions, group contingencies were found to have the highest effect sizes.
A group contingency is a time efficient classroom wide behavior management strategy
Team Building In a basic group contingency, students work together towards a common goal and are rewarded based upon their success in working towards that goal.
Social cooperation is facilitated, jealousy minimized and “problem students are not singled out”

Reward checkpoints
Identify Rewards with students – give them options and have them pick from that list

Max Points - 3 categories x 25 pts = 75 x # of days = 1425 points possible
80% of 1425 = 1140
5+ tallies = 0 points + consequence
4 tallies = 5 points
3 tallies = 10 points
