2 Earning the IB Diploma Participate in and complete internal/external assessments for six IB courses: 3 (or not more than 4) Higher Level (HL) exams 3 (or 2) Standard Level (SL) exams Complete Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Submit an original Extended Essay (EE) Complete a Creativity, Action, Service (CAS) Plan

3 Earning the IB Diploma = 24 Points
4 out of 7 points for each subject is passing (i.e. achieving 50 % correct equates to a 4). Students must earn 12 points on HL exams to get the diploma. If you receive an E (elementary) in TOK or on the EE, then it is considered to be a failing condition (i.e. no diploma). Not enough CAS is also a failing condition (i.e. no diploma). Earning the IB Diploma = 24 Points
