Jibben, and the XRT team Harvard-Smithsonian Center for Astrophysics ABSTRACT The X-ray Telescope (XRT) for Hinode will provide unprecedented amounts of high-resolution coronal data via a rapid image cadence, high spatial resolution and a 2048x2048 pixel array. Proper operation of the XRT requires that we know the point response function (PRF) of the telescope as a function of incoming photon energy and of position in the field of view. For absolute intensity determination we also need to know the effective collecting area of the telescope as f(E,θ). In-flight performance of the XRT is exceptional, fully meeting expectations. Detailed view of an AR 11/04/06 XRT INSTRUMENT TEMPERATURE RESPONSE “1st light” XRCF TEST RESULTS Point Response Function THE FOLLOWING X-RAY TESTS WERE PERFORMED AT THE XRCF: Focus Determination On-Axis PSF and Encircled Energy Cu-L, Al-K On-Axis Effective Area Cu-L, O-K, C-K, Al-K, Mo-L Off-Axis Effective Area Cu-L, O-K Off-Axis PSF and Enc’d Energy Cu-L Wings of PRF (Scattering) Al-K, Cu-L Thermal Response EE/PSF 19 °C and 23 °C Focal Length Measurement All tests were repeated after masking of aperture.
