2 Multiple choice tips… WHAT’S THE CONTEXT?
If you can’t crack it, move on. Skim the questions first, THEN analyze the document. Don’t waste time studying random facts. Test is not about memorization, anyways. BIG PICTURE Consider the social/political/economic trends of the ERA before answering. PROCESS OF ELIMINATION Look for obviously wrong answers—cross them out! 10 Writing tips Read the question
Brainstorm for a couple minutes: Write down everything that comes to mind Decide what point you want to argue and craft a thesis From your brain-storm list, distinguish between "Big picture" and "small picture" Focus on about three good, strong, points Keep your events in chronological order Write clearly and define your terms Transition between paragraphs Support your thoughts with examples (DBQ...use the docs, as well!!) Fill out the form and WRITE NEATLY!!! Opening and closing paragraphs are your sandwich buns. MOST IMPORTANTLY...ADDRESS EVERYTHING IN THE QUESTION!!!! Writing tips
