2 Access points that align to the Florida Standards
w/ Essential Understandings Access points that align to the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards Independent, Supported, Participatory Computer Science Access Point Standards had not been written until now, but fall under the umbrella with Science.

3 Computer Science Access Point Standards Writing Group
established by the ACCESS Project consisted of teachers, district personnel and content experts in Computer Science instruction worked in face to face sessions with virtual follow-up work Share who was part of the work in creating access points for computer science. In addition to teaching students how to use technology, we also considered ways that students are engaged with technology during instruction, independent work, and while communicating with peers and adults… See examples next 2 slides…

4 How are Computer Science Standards already being addressed in daily instruction through the use of Assistive Technology and current classroom technology? Adjust font size for size, color or contrast Use a switch with an environmental control unit or a switch with switch interface at the computer Complete work with a touch window or tablet Utilize accessibility options in the computer control panel: adjust repeated rate, change the mouse speed, enlarge the cursor Read online stories, digital books or dictionary Interact with online activities or apps In addition to the content of the standards, the Access Point Standards are reinforced through independent learning and accessibility acro. 5 How do AAC devices support the Computer Science Access Point Standards?
Text to speech, speech to text software, or speech recognition programs Speech-generating devices (i.e. Big Mac) Dynamic devices Smart devices (i.e. ipads, iphones) Give an example In each set of standards, K2, 35, 68, and 912, there is a standard for Communication and collaboration. Here are some examples…

6 Standard 1: Communication and collaboration
SC.K2.CS-CC.1.4 Provide and accept constructive criticism on a collaborative project. SC.35.CS-CC.1.1 Identify technology tools for individual and collaborative data collection, writing, communication, and publishing activities. SC.68.CS-CC.1.1 Demonstrate an ability to communicate appropriately through various online tools. SC.912.CS-CC.1.1 Evaluate modes of communication and collaboration. Session 3: Please use green pen. As these documents are still in draft form, please leave all copies on the tables. There are Elementary and Secondary Computer Science Access Point Standards in packets on your tables. Discuss potential changes, is there anything missing or anything to rephrase?
