2 This Session  Review a Student Growth Goal and identify feedback to provide to the teacher.  Identify and create questions to use when conferencing with teachers on Student Growth Goals.

4 Science Sample Growth Goal This school year, all of my sixth grade students will demonstrate measurable growth in their ability to apply the scientific practices. 100% of my students will improve by 2 or more levels on the district’s science rubric in the areas of engaging in argument from evidence and obtaining, evaluating, and communicating information. 85% of students will perform at level four on the 5-point science rubric. 4

13 Use the 1 st Sample Rubric  Where would you place this goal on the rubric?  What feedback would you give the teacher?

14 Let’s look at your feedback  Who is doing the work of making the changes – you or the teacher?  Did you tie your feedback back to the language of the rubric? If not, how could you have worded things differently?  Would your conference be collaborative given your feedback?

15 Think and Plan Tool Aligned with EDS Questions around the SGG Process

16 Next Step  Review the Goals from the Draft and Revision Packets  What changes did the teacher make?  What feedback would the principal need to give to move the teacher to the new goal?
