3 Seeking Treatment Active duty members can self refer to the MTF
Active duty family members can seek help within the Tricare network Anonymous online help 24/365 Help Lines The first 8 visits do NOT require preauthorization if the family member seeks care within the Tricare network

4 DOD Mental Health Self-Assessment Program
Mental health and alcohol screening and referral program For military families and service members Voluntary and anonymous program Self assessments are available online Individualized results are military health resources are provided at the end of each assessment

6 DOD’s inTransition Program
Confidential coaching program Secures appointments with behavioral health provider Automatic enrollment/opt-out All Service members who have seen a behavioral health provider within one year of separation will be automatically enrolled in the inTransition program and will be contacted by an Intransition coach

8 Veterans Affairs Coverage
OEF/OIF/OND combat Veterans can receive cost free medical care for any condition related to their service in the Iraq/Afghanistan theater for five years after the date of their discharge or release. Guard can keep eligibility after 5 years In order to take advantage of these benefits, OEF/OIF/OND Vets need to enroll in VA's health care system.

13 Conclusion Help for mental health is available through a variety of avenues. Attending the veterans benefits briefing will provide the opportunity to talk with a professional from Veterans Affairs in more detail on benefits programs and resources available through the Veteran Affairs.
