In this lesson you will learn: Components of the Organizer / Patient Lists Patient List Toolbar Features Patient Lists

2 Introduction to Patient Lists
Using Patient Lists in PowerChart will help you to easily organize and access large amounts of patient data. Patients Lists are manually created by the user. Once the user defines the criteria for the Patient List (all patients not discharged from Chesapeake Pediatrics – Oakbrooke, for example), the system matches all of the patients that meet the user-defined criteria and adds them to the Patient List. For custom Patient Lists, the user can manually add or remove patients that he/she wants to appear on the List. Patient Lists

3 Accessing Patient Lists
To access Patient Lists from within the Organizer in eKiDs PowerChart, click on the Patient List Tab. Note: For some staff members (such as clinicians), Patient Lists will be the default screen in the Organizer. Patient Lists

4 Components of Patient Lists
The Organizer The Organizer is the “Home” of Patient Lists. From the Organizer, you can create lists, manage / view existing lists, and delete lists. From the Organizer you also have access to Message Center, Scheduling, and Task Lists. Patient Lists

5 Components of Patient Lists: Menu Command Toolbar
Many of the same commands that are listed as options on the PowerChart Organizer Toolbar are accessible from the Menu Command Toolbar. While working in Patient Lists, we will primarily use the Patient List Menu. Patient Lists

Patient Lists use the standard Patient List toolbar, which is displayed on the left side of the screen. Patient Lists

8 Components of Patient Lists: Organizer Toolbar
The Organizer toolbar is also used in your PowerChart sessions to change modules (i.e. from Scheduling to Patient Lists), or to secure your application. Patient Lists

9 Establishing a Patient-Provider Relationship
Note: You will be asked to establish a patient/provider relationship, if your relationship has not been previously user or system-established, before you can open the patient's chart. Patient Lists

10 Opening a Patient Chart from a Patient List
To open a patient chart from a Patient List: Double-click the patient's name directly from the Patient List OR Select a patient's name on the Patient List. Right Click and Choose Open Patient Chart. Select from the last nine (9) patient charts that have been opened by clicking the Recent button icon on the top right of the page. Using the drop down arrow select the patient name. The Recent icon is also accessible within the patient chart. Patient Lists
