4 DIRECT SERVICE PROGRAM: THE CORE OF OUR WORK
3 Kitchens in Marin and Sonoma County 1 acre and 1/3 acre gardens in Sebastopol and Santa Rosa 100,000 organic medically tailored meals / year to 700+ clients and their families 450 youth from 65 schools grow the food and prepare the meals– 25,000 hours of work-based learning 600 adult volunteers contribute 24,000 hours Dozens of farm and food producer partners 40+ nutrition education and cooking classes offered annually

5 CERES CAFÉ & CATERING PROGRAMS
Goals Promote healthy organic and locally sourced food Provide job training opportunities for youth Generate visibility and awareness for Ceres’ work Raise funds Café Open 8am – 2pm Monday through Friday Office lunch delivery within Santa Rosa area Catering Program Cater all size events throughout Sonoma and Marin Lunch meetings, conferences, nonprofit fund-raisers, memorial services, weddings

6 YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Youth make commitment to program: 3 hours a week for 3 months; 29% involved 1-4 years Youth serve as primary gardeners and chefs supported by adult mentors Nutrition, food systems, and values curriculum delivered during ½ hour each day Client visits ongoing part of program Youth Leader Program Volunteer & paid work experience ©2018 Ceres Community Project • All Rights Reserved •

7 TEENS INCREASE HEALTHY EATING, cook more and become healthy eating advocates
Data collected between Jan 2012 and Apr 2014, USDA Grant 29% Increase in in the # of teens who report eating at least 3 servings/day of vegetables 27% Increase in the variety of vegetables they report eating from 15 to 18 Reduced eating fast food, occasionally or frequently 54% 98% are confident they can prepare a healthy meal from scratch 50% more teens encouraging friends and family members to make healthier choices Number of teens cooking at home at least once a week +28% ©2018 Ceres Community Project • All Rights Reserved •

LASTING IMPACTS Alumni Survey: 47% are cooking from scratch 4+ days a week 80% say diet consists of mostly fresh whole foods 96% said time at Ceres was key influence 55% continue to be involved in community 45% working or studying in fields related to our work 62% said time at Ceres was key influence Improved Eating Habits: Clients and teens eating 2.3 million more servings of fruits and vegetables annually
