3 FACTS ABOUT ABIA STATE Coordinates: 5°25′N 7°30′E 5.417°N 7.5°E
Abia State is a state in southeastern Nigeria. The capital is Umuahia, although the major commercial city is Aba, formerly a British Colonial Government Outpost. The state was created in 1991 from part of Imo State and its citizens are predominantly Igbo people (95% of population).It is one of the nine(9) constituent states of the Niger Delta region. Aba manufacturing sector contributed about 10% in GDP as captured in 2014 Rebasing and 60% of the states 10%(2billion naira) monthly IGR,( NBS,2013).

I. Determine the extent to which level of employment enhances the development of idea generation II. Ascertain the extent to which technological know-how influences the development of opportunity identification III. Examine the extent to which security of investment affects the development of R&D among indigenous firms IV. Extent to which training leads to the development of innovative skills among indigenous firms

HI: Correlation coefficient (R) between Dev of idea generation and employment is strong & positive with p-value (0.000) < 0.05(significant) H2: Regression relationship between technological know-how (TKH) and development of opportunity identification (DOI) is: DOI = TKH, and t-value > 1.96 (t-critical) and p-value < 0.05 (significant) H3: Security of investment (SI) and development of research and development (R&D) is: DRD = SI as t-value > 1.96 (t-critical) and p-value < 0.05, ( significant) H4: The correlation coefficient (R) between development of innovation and technology is with p-value (0.000) < 0.05, (significant)

Recommendations 1.Indigenous firms should engage in employment of qualified staff, though within their budget inputs and job specifications. 2.Creation of Training unit in HRD for identification of opportunity & innovative skills by employees 3.Creation of R&D unit for innovative & dynamic needs of target markets against the back drop of white-elephant projects 4.Investors investment security should be sufficiently assured
