Thanks to you we now have: A puzzle for visitors to do on the differences between solids and liquids Some exciting tasks that teach visitors all about gases A new dessert in the museum café that teaches everyone how matter can change state by freezing and melting A beautiful indoor garden which has its own miniature water cycle Dartspring Museum Carla Milton Curator

3 Today, we have one last task for you to help us with.
Dartspring Museum At the museum we have a Science Activity Room that visitors go into at the end of their visit. Here there are lots of different activities that children and adults can do. There are games, puzzles and quizzes that use knowledge of the scientific ideas they have learnt on their visit. Please can you help us to develop some games, puzzles and quizzes that use knowledge of States of Matter?

4 Here are some ideas that may help you get started
Puzzles Draw a picture and turn it into a word puzzle by asking visitors to match the correct word card. or Make a diagram with information all about states of matter. Stick it onto cardboard and turn it into a jigsaw puzzle river sea condensation evaporation precipitation lake

5 or Make your own sorting puzzle Solids Liquids Gases Oxygen
Carbon dioxide

6 Games Design a States of Matter board game.
Perhaps the players could answer questions on States of Matter when they land on different spaces.

7 or You could invent your own States of Matter card game
Carbon dioxide Melting You could base the idea on a card game you already know Condensation Oxygen

8 Quizzes Water Cycle Quizzes are really fun to make. Try challenging people with lots of different kinds of questions which test their knowledge of States of Matter Vapour Evaporation Precipitation Liquid
