2 It is time to transition
All staff in secondary schools (who have not already done so) are required to obtain a WWCC clearance by 31 March 2017 This process can take some time (in some cases 6 weeks) so you need to apply now If you do not have a WWCC clearance by 31 March 2017 you cannot be employed in a child-related role © NSW Department of Education | Document title 22 November 2018

3 What do I do? Apply- for a WWCC clearance on the Office of the Children’s Guardian (OCG) website Confirm - go to your nearest RMS or Service NSW office to have your ID verified and pay the $80 fee. Your application will be processed once you have completed this step, the application may take up to 6 weeks. Submit - when your WWCC clearance is received, you must submit your WWCC clearance number via the ESS portal © NSW Department of Education | Document title 22 November 2018

5 How do i submit my WWCC clearance via ess?
Staff need to provide their WWCC number via the Employee Self Service (ESS) portal. Step 1: Log into the ESS portal. Step 2: Select “My details”, then select “My WWCC details”. Step 3: Enter your WWCC clearance number as issued by the Office of the Children’s Guardian (e.g. WWC E). © NSW Department of Education | Working with Children Check Transition Process 22 November 2018

6 Volunteers exempt from providing WWCC
The majority of parents or close relatives who volunteer with their child's school are exempt from obtaining a WWCC clearance, and will continue to be exempt. Day to day reading helpers, canteen helpers etc, who are a parent or close relative to a child at the school, DO NOT need to provide a WWCC clearance. 7 Volunteers required to provide a WWCC
The following volunteers are required to obtain a WWCC clearance: Volunteers working as part of a formal mentoring program; or Volunteers involved in intimate, personal care of children with a disability or Volunteers who are not a parent or close relative of a student at the school at which the volunteer is working Refer to the WWCC procedures for more information © NSW Department of Education | Working with Children Check Transition Process 22 November 2018
