3. A) Discuss two reasons why the framers created a bicameral legislature. Bicameral legislature – a lawmaking body made up of two chambers or parts. The framers chose bicameral legislature idea of checks and balances and equal representation for each state One government installation (elected by the people) = a fear of majority rule With two chambers the frames were able to prevent a majority rule and keep the a balance between larger and smaller states The House of Representatives where to be elected directly by the people and the senate consisted of two members from each state to be chosen by the legislatures of each state. page 279 The Evolution of Congress

The House has the power of all bills dealing with money (taxes or spend money) and then they are approved by the Senate The framers knew money = power wanted that power in the hands of the Representatives of the House They are elected according to population and are elected every two years The House is the part of government over which we the people have the most control.
