1 Using Outlook to Make Picture File Sizes Smaller
Make sure Outlook is open and minimized. Right click in the folder where you want the new folder to appear. Choose New Folder Type a name for the folder and click away from it. Open the folder with the pictures that you want to optimize. Highlight the photos you want to change. To highlight multiple adjacent files: Click the first one. Hold down shift and click the last one in the list. To highlight multiple non-adjacent files: Hold down ctrl and click the non-adjacent files. June M. Jones, Educational Technology Facilitator, YCSD

2 Go to File Send To Mail recipient.
Wait for the message below to appear. Choose the options you want. Note the progress of the process. The more pictures you have, the longer it takes. The optimized picture files appear as attachments. June M. Jones, Educational Technology Facilitator, YCSD

3 Click in the area with the attached pictures.
Press ctrl+a to highlight them all. Right click on any highlighted area and choose copy from the pop up menu. Maximize the new folder you created. Right click in the open folder and choose paste from the pop up menu. The optimized pictures will appear. To see the file sizes go to View Details. Note the files sizes, types and dates.
