Changes in percentage of students reaching proficiency
Different groups of students compared as students change in school
PSSA – includes students who take the PSSA, PASA and were enrolled for FAY
Keystone – students’ best score to date (per module) for all grade 11 students enrolled for FAY
Indicators of Academic Growth
Academic growth of students relative to changes in their entering and exiting achievement during reported year
PSSA – includes students who take the PSSA and were enrolled for FAY
Keystone – students whose score in reported year was higher than prior year(s), OR their very first Keystone score and were enrolled for FAY
Note: Each student taking a Keystone in the reported year is considered
PA School Performance Profile

4. What’s the difference between these two indicators?
Indicators of Closing Achievement Gap – “Are the percentage of students increasing each year at a rate to close the achievement gap by 50% in 6 years?”
Indicators of Academic Growth – “Did the group of students maintain, gain, or fall behind with regards to their achievement, based upon their entering achievement?
