2. Insect Body Parts!
There are over 1,000,000 types of insects in the world. They may look very different but guess what?
They all have the same main body parts!
In today’s lesson,
we will learn about those body parts.

3. My parts…..
Head
Thorax
Abdomen
Legs (6)
Antennae (2)
Compound Eyes

4. 3 Main Body Segments 1) Head – has eyes, antennae and mouth parts.
2) Thorax – middle, where legs and wings attach.
3) Abdomen – end, has stomach and eggs.

5. Other required equipment…
Legs – 6 jointed legs.
Antennae – 2 “feelers” to sense the world around them.
Compound Eyes – thousands of tiny little eyes to see detail.

6. Optional equipment…
Wings – 2 or 4 attached to thorax.
