Our vision - We help New Zealanders to help themselves to be safe, strong and independent. Ministry of Social Development’s role is developing and delivering effective and efficient client-centred services Developing an integrated actuarial providing current and long-term social policy advice.

10 Health and Disability Population
34% of people on JS – H&D have a mental health condition. Next largest group are those with musclo-sketal conditions. It is important to note that 97% of the overall growth in JS-HCID/ SLP client numbers over the last 10 years are people who have a mental health condition. 70% of JS-HCID & SLP clients are aged over 40 years.
